Mark 9:38-41
38 John said to Jesus, "Teacher, we saw a man using your name to cast out demons, but we told him to stop because he isn't one of our group."
39 "Don't stop him!" Jesus said. "No one who performs miracles in my name will soon be able to speak evil of me. 40 Anyone who is not against us is for us. 41 If anyone gives you even a cup of water because you belong to the Messiah, I assure you, that person will be rewarded. (NLT)
God calls people to do a variety of different things with different people and different cultures, just because they are not part of our group or church does not mean they are not working for God. We must remember that God can do whatever He wants whenever He wants with whomever He wants and how He wants. We are only one small piece to the great picture that God is working on. We are to be doing our part and others are to do their part. Remember “Anyone who is not against us is for us.” God has made things simple for us and it is we who try to make things more complicated. Jesus said that He would send the Holy Spirit to teach us all things and that is what He did. Remember when Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Him and then they went for a walk together and Peter asked Jesus "what about that guy" (paraphrased) and Jesus said "what is that to you?" (parapharsed). Sometimes Jesus says to us "what is that to you?" It's just none of our business. We need to just be doing what God wants us to be done and leave the rest up to Jesus. We need to remember the KISS method “Keep It Simple Stupid.” I remind myself of this often because I can make things too complicated. Jesus wants us to trust Him, put our faith in Him, to believe in Him and to follow Him, pretty simple.
