Mark 10:10-12
10 Later, when he was alone with his disciples in the house, they brought up the subject again. 11 He told them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery against her.  12 And if a woman divorces her husband and remarries, she commits adultery." (NLT)

Sometimes when scripture seems to be negative we can still see the encouragement in His Word. Here Jesus tells His disciple that if a man does this to his wife or if a wife does this to her husband it is adultery. Is adultery unforgiveable? No, but the consequences and the damage to relationships even to those near it will leave scares for the rest of their lives. Sin always leaves collateral damage. But the encouragement comes from the knowledge that when we turn from this sin God forgives, God can restore and God can bless. We serve a God of second chances. He never stops loving us even when we sin, regardless of the sin we have committed against Him and sin is always against God. Therefore turn to the living God and obey His word and surrender to His care and authority.
