Mark 10:32-34
32 They were now on the way to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. The disciples were filled with dread and the people following behind were overwhelmed with fear. Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus once more began to describe everything that was about to happen to him in Jerusalem. 33 "When we get to Jerusalem," he told them, "the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die and hand him over to the Romans. 34 They will mock him, spit on him, beat him with their whips, and kill him, but after three days he will rise again."
(NLT)
Jesus never leaves us in the dark. We sometimes think He has but we find we were the ones not listening in the first place. God has given us His word to tell us everything we need to know. Even though Jesus knew His disciples would not understand everything right away He explained it to them anyway. Jesus has sent His Holy Spirit to guide, teach and direct us into His will for our lives, we just need to be still and listen. It is important to know God’s Word so that we know what God wants us to do. Otherwise we will be going down the wrong path thinking “I know what God wants me to do, I don’t need to read scripture.” Wrong answer. In 2 Timothy 2:15 it says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (KJV) Study or work hard at knowing God’s Word and His will for you. Just as Jesus let the disciples know what was going to happen to Him beforehand He will let you know what His will is for you too.
