Mark 10:12-16
Jesus Blesses the Children
13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch them and bless them, but the disciples told them not to bother him. 14 But when Jesus saw what was happening, he was very displeased with his disciples. He said to them, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 I assure you, anyone who doesn't have their kind of faith will never get into the Kingdom of God." 16 Then he took the children into his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them. (NLT)
We are to have faith as children have faith in Jesus. In order to come to Jesus we must have the faith of a child. The faith of a child is pure trust and reliance on Jesus. Jesus sees us as His children therefore we must trust Him as children trust Him. Never turn children away for by them we will learn how to truly trust Christ. As God gives us His blessing we too are to pass that blessing on to our children and our spiritual children. “Give as God has given to you.” Bless others as God has blessed you. God has blessed us with an inheritance and that inheritance is to be shared, not hoarded. We are Jesus’ children and we are to follow in our King's footsteps. Faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love.
