Galatians 4:8-12a 8 Before you Gentiles knew God, you were slaves to so-called gods that do not even exist. 9 And now that you have found God (or should I say, now that God has found you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual powers of this world? 10 You are trying to find favor with God by what you do or don't do on certain days or months or seasons or years. 11 I fear for you. I am afraid that all my hard work for you was worth nothing. 12 Dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to live as I do in freedom from these things, for I have become like you Gentiles were — free from the law. (NLT) Tradition should never be used to please God or to be placed above scripture. We have been set free from traditions. We are to live our lives free in Christ according to His will for us. We are to be more like Jesus every day. To try to return to your old life is like try to break into prison, why would you do that? Why would you want to be bound by the chains of fear, worry, chaos and hatred. When we are set free in Christ we can now live without fear, we can live in a love that is indescribable and we can live in peace with our Father God. Life in Christ lifts you up, the world brings you down. Life in Christ give you the abundant life, the world takes and takes and takes and never gives back. Therefore turn from the old life and turn to Jesus into the new life the one who loves you, cares for you, and believes in you as you do Him. He never stops loving you and He always has your best interests in mind. Live for Him because He lives for you. Galatians 4:1-7 1 Think of it this way. If a father dies and leaves great wealth for his young children, those children are not much better off than slaves until they grow up, even though they actually own everything their father had. 2 They have to obey their guardians until they reach whatever age their father set. 3 And that's the way it was with us before Christ came. We were slaves to the spiritual powers of this world. 4 But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. 5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. 6 And because you Gentiles have become his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, and now you can call God your dear Father. 7 Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, everything he has belongs to you.(NLT) We have been set free from the spiritual powers of this world. When we except Christ as our Lord and Savior we are set free from the old life to live in the new life in Christ. To go back or to continually go back to the old life is a waste. Don’t buy into the old lie that the old life or the old days are or were better than now, it is not. Christ died to give us everything. Christ died to make us joint heirs with Him. Therefore what God has given Christ He has given us. All that God has promised has been fulfilled in and through Christ. The old life is dead. Stop trying to revive your old dead stinky self but live in the new man in Christ. Stop wallowing in self pity and self destruction and look up to Christ and do not take your eyes off of Him. Jesus didn’t say life on this earth was going to be easy but He is going to right there with you every step of the way. The best thing to do is to get out of your own way and let Christ lead because He knows the way, just follow Him. When we take the lead all we do is get lost but when Christ is in the lead we have peace and joy. Keep looking up to Jesus because He is the only one you can truly trust to lead you. Galatians 3:24-29 24 Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian and teacher to lead us until Christ came. So now, through faith in Christ, we are made right with God. 25 But now that faith in Christ has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian. 26 So you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have been made like him. 28 There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female. For you are all Christians — you are one in Christ Jesus. 29 And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and now all the promises God gave to him belong to you. (NLT) WOW! We are one in Christ Jesus, we belong to Christ and we have become the children of the living God through faith in His Son. All the promises God gave to Abraham are now promised to us. We are joint heirs with Christ. So then, why do we keep living in the world and its sin? Why live for a world that hates you and wants nothing more than to destroy you? We are free to live in Christ filled with the Holy Spirit of promise. Let us take off the old man and put on the new because we have everything we need in Christ. There is no better life than the life we have in Christ. Do not be deceived by the world and its lies. The only life worth living is the life for Christ. If we live for anything else but Christ then we live a lie and we have been deceived by the evil one. Christ is the beginning, Christ is the middle, Christ is the end and Christ is the all in all. It was all created for Christ, it was all given to Christ and it is all about Christ. Leave the old man behind and move forward into the new man in Christ. There will never be any regrets living for Christ. Except Christ and all that He offers you and walk into an abundant life that is like none other you have seen. Phil 3:13-15 3 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:15-23 The Law and God's Promises 15 Dear brothers and sisters, here's an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or amend an irrevocable agreement, so it is in this case. 16 God gave the promise to Abraham and his child. And notice that it doesn't say the promise was to his children, as if it meant many descendants. But the promise was to his child — and that, of course, means Christ. 17 This is what I am trying to say: The agreement God made with Abraham could not be canceled 430 years later when God gave the law to Moses. God would be breaking his promise. 18 For if the inheritance could be received only by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting God's promise. But God gave it to Abraham as a promise. 19 Well then, why was the law given? It was given to show people how guilty they are. But this system of law was to last only until the coming of the child to whom God's promise was made. And there is this further difference. God gave his laws to angels to give to Moses, who was the mediator between God and the people. 20 Now a mediator is needed if two people enter into an agreement, but God acted on his own when he made his promise to Abraham. 21 Well then, is there a conflict between God's law and God's promises? Absolutely not! If the law could have given us new life, we could have been made right with God by obeying it. 22 But the Scriptures have declared that we are all prisoners of sin, so the only way to receive God's promise is to believe in Jesus Christ. 23 Until faith in Christ was shown to us as the way of becoming right with God, we were guarded by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until we could put our faith in the coming Savior. (NLT) Also Read Romans 7:1 – 8:17 Praise be to God who saw us as precious in His sight. Therefore put all your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior and live for Him who has given you everything. We no longer need to worry or fret for our Lord has everything under control and everything is in His hands. All we need to do is to follow Him. Galatians 3:12-14 The Law and Faith in Christ 12 How different from this way of faith is the way of law, which says, "If you wish to find life by obeying the law, you must obey all of its commands." 13 But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." 14 Through the work of Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, and we Christians receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith. (NLT) Is it not wonderful that those who have received salvation through Jesus Christ that we are no longer under the curse of the law. We should be spending more time praising the Lord Jesus for the great things He has done for us. God has blessed us with the same blessing that He blessed Abraham with. We are now the children of the living God. How wonderful this is. We have received by promise the Holy Spirit through faith. The Holy Spirit has marked us as God’s sons and daughters to be with Him forever. Christ rescued us from the pit of hell where we were heading to, possible standing at the edge about to fall in and He came and brought us home. Think about these verses and let them sink into your mind what Christ has done for you. Do not take what He has done for granted but let it guide you into what He wants you to glorify Him in. Take the time right now and praise Him, thank Him and show Him your appreciation of Him. We serve an AWSOME God. Galatians 3:10-11 The Law and Faith in Christ 10 But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, "Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all these commands that are written in God's Book of the Law." 11 Consequently, it is clear that no one can ever be right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life." (NLT) The law put you under a curse. For it is impossible for anyone to keep the law. The Pharisee’s tried but they just ended up being white washed or they only gave an outward appearance of being holy. But inside they were rotten to the core. God wants to change you from the inside out. The law is to show how Holy God is and how destitute we are. The law brings the realization that we are sinners. The law clearly shows that no one can ever be right with God by trying to keep it. But thanks be to God who provided the way to Him through the fulfilling of the law by sending Jesus to die in our place. Therefore through faith you can have life and a life more abundantly in Him. Scripture teaches us to live by faith. You are to live by faith in God, faith in Christ and faith in the Holy Spirit who abides in you. The law is a tutor to bring you to God and to teach you to live by faith in the Savior that God sent for you. Live by Faith. Galatians 3:8-9 The Law and Faith in Christ 8 What's more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would accept the Gentiles, too, on the basis of their faith. God promised this good news to Abraham long ago when he said, "All nations will be blessed through you." 9 And so it is: All who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith. (NLT) We are blessed by faith. We are saved by faith. We receive the same blessings Abraham received because of his faith. Gentiles, too, are accepted on the basis of their faith. Therefore we must live by faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Without faith it is impossible to live for Christ. Without faith it is impossible to grow in Christ. Therefore we must live by faith. Christ has faith in you and called you to live by faith in Him. Jesus thought enough of you that He died a horrible death on the cross for you. Since Christ died for you then you are of great value to Him. Everything Jesus did was with purpose, nothing wasted. Therefore He holds you as valuable to Him and wants you to live for Him by faith. Therefore you must live by faith in Him who died for you because of His great love for you. Sponsored by Men’s Ministry Our Mission is to Lead Men into a Growing Relationship with Jesus Christ

Galatians 3:5-7 The Law and Faith in Christ 5 I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law of Moses? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. 6 In the same way, "Abraham believed God, so God declared him righteous because of his faith." 7 The real children of Abraham, then, are all those who put their faith in God. (NLT) Again we are no longer under the law. But miracles are done and the Holy Spirit is given because of believing on the name of Jesus Christ. We need to put our faith in the one true God the God of Abraham. Abraham believed God and he was declared righteous because of his faith. We are declared righteous when we put our faith in Christ. Through Christ we now stand righteous before God. Our position is now as sons and daughters of God the Father. You become a real child of God by putting your faith in Him. Faith is believing, faith is trusting and faith is what we are to live by. God is pleased when He sees our faith and trust in Him. Galatians 3:1-4 The Law and Faith in Christ 1 Oh, foolish Galatians! What magician has cast an evil spell on you? For you used to see the meaning of Jesus Christ's death as clearly as though I had shown you a signboard with a picture of Christ dying on the cross. 2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by keeping the law? Of course not, for the Holy Spirit came upon you only after you believed the message you heard about Christ. 3 Have you lost your senses? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? 4 You have suffered so much for the Good News. Surely it was not in vain, was it? Are you now going to just throw it all away? (NLT) We need to be mindful and careful of the keeping of our faith that it is not a human effort on our part but God changing us as He wills. Faith in Christ is not about keeping rules or laws but trusting God as He leads us in this life for Him. We must leave behind our human efforts and be lead by the Spirit to live according the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are to be ever moving forward and pressing on toward the high calling of God in Christ. Open your eyes and look up to Jesus and deny yourself and follow Jesus. Galatians 2:21 21 I am not one of those who treats the grace of God as meaningless. For if we could be saved by keeping the law, then there was no need for Christ to die. (NLT) If it were possible to keep the entire law then we would be saved by keeping it. But the law was to show that we are sinners because it is impossible to keep every letter of the law. Why? Because we are sinners and we don’t like to follow the rules. The law causes us to realize that we can not please God through keeping rules. The law brings us to see that we are sinners because God is a Holy God requiring those to be Holy as He is Holy. God required the shedding of blood for the forgiveness of sin. But God provided the ultimate way by showing that the law would be fulfilled when the Christ comes and gives His life so that we can be reconciled to God. Jesus was the fulfillment of the law. He was the final piece to the law. The law showed that we were dead spiritually and that faith in Christ’s death, burial and resurrection would bring salvation to those who would believe on His name. And though His name we would be made alive unto God and made complete in Christ. Praise be unto God our Father for His wonderful grace. Galatians 2:19-20 19 For when I tried to keep the law, I realized I could never earn God's approval. So I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ. 20 I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (NLT) When we receive Jesus as our Savior we are crucified with Him and now Christ lives in you. The worldly self has died and the spiritual person is born. Therefore we are to live in this earthly body and to live our lives by trusting in the Son of God. Who loved you enough to give up himself for you so that you can have a relationship with God the Father. You are no longer to live for yourself but to live for Christ. Galatians 2:19 19 For when I tried to keep the law, I realized I could never earn God's approval. So I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ. (NLT) The law that was written to the Jews was to show them that they need God. There was no way that anyone could keep the entire law (even though the Pharisees tried.) The law was to show the Jews that they were sinners in need of a Savior. As Paul states “I realized I could never earn God’s approval”, through the law Paul saw that he was a sinner therefore he died to the law or realized he was dead spiritually. When Christ was crucified on the cross He made it possible for us through faith to come alive spiritually so that we can now live for God. We can now have a relationship with our true Father. Through Christ we who believe have been crucified with Christ. The old man is dead and the new man in Christ is alive unto God. Now then stop living for the world and the flesh and live by the Spirit in the new man in Christ to the glory of God. Let Christ live through you. Galatians 2:17-18 17 But what if we seek to be made right with God through faith in Christ and then find out that we are still sinners? Has Christ led us into sin? Of course not! 18 Rather, I make myself guilty if I rebuild the old system I already tore down. (NLT) Of course not, Christ does not lead us into sin but shows us that we are sinners in need of Him as our Savior. Jesus is the fulfillment of the law. Why would you want to go back to what you were before? Faith in Christ is what makes us right with God. Our new life is better than our old life. In our old life when problems came we had no one else to be there with us. We just either felt sorry for ourselves or we tried to handle it on our own, our way and when we did it our way it just made matters worse. In our new life in Christ He is right there with us every step of the way. We do not need to worry but to trust for Jesus will never leave us or forsake us. We have the Holy Spirit within us to guide us into God’s will. Problems and trials will always come but now we have a friend to come alone side of us and will always go the distance with us no matter what. Sponsored by Men’s Ministry Our Mission is to Lead Men into a Growing Relationship with Jesus Christ
Galatians 2:14-16 14 When I saw that they were not following the truth of the Good News, I said to Peter in front of all the others, "Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you trying to make these Gentiles obey the Jewish laws you abandoned? 15 You and I are Jews by birth, not 'sinners' like the Gentiles. 16 And yet we Jewish Christians know that we become right with God, not by doing what the law commands, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be accepted by God because of our faith in Christ — and not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be saved by obeying the law." (NLT) Salvation has always been by faith. The law was written to show the Jews that they were sinners and they needed God as their savior. The law and the sacrifices were only a glimpse of what was to come. Jesus came to fulfill the law and He did. Now salvation is faith in Christ because He became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Peter new the new freedom he had in Christ but fear caused him to stumble and God used Paul to correct Peter. When we allow fear to rule in our lives God will bring someone alone side of us to correct our behavior. God is our Father and He will correct His children and lead them into doing what is right in His sight. We have nothing to fear because the creator of the universe is our God and Father and no one is greater than He. His ways are perfect and right therefore we can trust Him and love Him as He loves us. Sometimes we are like small children learning to first walk for the first time, afraid to stand on our feet and afraid that we will fall. We do not always recognize that it is God who is holding our hands and keeping us from falling. Faith is trusting God who is holding us. We fall because we pull our hands away from God thinking we can do it on our own and then we fall. But God picks us up, dusts us off and patiently helps us again. God loves us and will never forsake us even when we fall. Take time right now and thank Him for always being there for you. Galatians 2:11-13 11 But when Peter came to Antioch, I had to oppose him publicly, speaking strongly against what he was doing, for it was very wrong. 12 When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile Christians, who don't bother with circumcision. But afterward, when some Jewish friends of James came, Peter wouldn't eat with the Gentiles anymore because he was afraid of what these legalists would say. 13 Then the other Jewish Christians followed Peter's hypocrisy, and even Barnabas was influenced to join them in their hypocrisy. (NLT) It is very important for us to know scripture and to follow what God wants us to do. We are no longer under the old testament law because Christ is the fulfillment of the law. We are now in Christ and we are to live in Christ. We are no longer to go back but to press forward on to Christ. Peter started off well but fear caused him to stumble and sin. We do not have to fear any longer for Christ lives in us. In Christ all men and women are equal. No one is any better than anyone else. Always turn to Christ if you feel fear arising in you. Satan wants you to be fearful so that he can get you out of the game. Seek God about the weak areas of your walk and yield them unto Christ the author and finisher of your faith. Words of Encouragement Galatians 2:1-10 1 Then fourteen years later I went back to Jerusalem again, this time with Barnabas; and Titus came along, too. 2 I went there because God revealed to me that I should go. While I was there I talked privately with the leaders of the church. I wanted them to understand what I had been preaching to the Gentiles. I wanted to make sure they did not disagree, or my ministry would have been useless. 3 And they did agree. They did not even demand that my companion Titus be circumcised, though he was a Gentile. 4 Even that question wouldn't have come up except for some so-called Christians there — false ones, really — who came to spy on us and see our freedom in Christ Jesus. They wanted to force us, like slaves, to follow their Jewish regulations. 5 But we refused to listen to them for a single moment. We wanted to preserve the truth of the Good News for you. 6 And the leaders of the church who were there had nothing to add to what I was preaching. (By the way, their reputation as great leaders made no difference to me, for God has no favorites.) 7 They saw that God had given me the responsibility of preaching the Good News to the Gentiles, just as he had given Peter the responsibility of preaching to the Jews. 8 For the same God who worked through Peter for the benefit of the Jews worked through me for the benefit of the Gentiles. 9 In fact, James, Peter, and John, who were known as pillars of the church, recognized the gift God had given me, and they accepted Barnabas and me as their co-workers. They encouraged us to keep preaching to the Gentiles, while they continued their work with the Jews. 10 The only thing they suggested was that we remember to help the poor, and I have certainly been eager to do that. (NLT) As with Paul, Peter, James and John we too are given the responsibility of preaching the Good News. We are to remember to help the poor. We are to keep the faith. We are to bring praise, honor and glory to our God and Savior. We are to be continually reaching out to the lost and sharing the path to salvation through Jesus Christ at every opportunity. Our Mission for each one of us is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Sponsored by Men’s Ministry Our Mission is to Lead Men into a Growing Relationship with Jesus Christ
Galatians 1:16 - 24 16 Then he revealed his Son to me so that I could proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When all this happened to me, I did not rush out to consult with anyone else; 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to consult with those who were apostles before I was. No, I went away into Arabia and later returned to the city of Damascus. 18 It was not until three years later that I finally went to Jerusalem for a visit with Peter and stayed there with him for fifteen days. 19 And the only other apostle I met at that time was James, our Lord's brother. 20 You must believe what I am saying, for I declare before God that I am not lying. 21 Then after this visit, I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia. 22 And still the Christians in the churches in Judea didn't know me personally. 23 All they knew was that people were saying, "The one who used to persecute us now preaches the very faith he tried to destroy!" 24 And they gave glory to God because of me. (NLT) There are two things we can glean from these verses, first is that Paul did not immediately go into serve but first was taught the true scripture and the true gospel. As a person begins a career he starts out as a naives, then progresses to the point where he can then begin to do the actual work, then in time he become a journeyman and finally with enough time and experience he becomes a professional. Paul had to relearn everything he was taught because he was taught incorrectly. Just like swinging a golf club incorrectly produces slicing the ball. We need someone to come along side us and show us the correct way to swing so we can hit the ball straight. Christ has sent the Holy Spirit to come along side us and to teach us scripture correctly and we are to listen to Him. Second is that once Paul learned the scripture correctly he then went on to proclaiming the gospel. For what good is it if we learn the scriptures and then do nothing with it? It does no good. Therefore as we learn we are to become doers of the Word and Paul became a doer of the Word. James 1:22-25 22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; 24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25 But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man shall be blessed in what he does. Galatians 1:13-15 13 You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion — how I violently persecuted the Christians. I did my best to get rid of them. 14 I was one of the most religious Jews of my own age, and I tried as hard as possible to follow all the old traditions of my religion. 15 But then something happened! For it pleased God in his kindness to choose me and call me, even before I was born! What undeserved mercy! (NLT) There is a time to think back on who and what we were before receiving Christ. That is to remember to never go back to that again but to press forward and onward to Christ. Without Christ religion is nothing more than a bunch of rules and regulations to bring you down and control your life. It took Jesus Christ to show Paul that it was about relationship with Him not tradition, rules and regulations. But a relationship with Jesus Christ brings freedom, joy, peace, love, grace and mercy. Because salvation through Christ is pleasing to God, it was His plan and He loves it when a plan comes together. God choose you, God has called you even before you were born. What undeserved mercy! Galatians 1:11-12

11 Dear brothers and sisters, I solemnly assure you that the Good News of salvation
which I preach is not based on mere human reasoning or logic.
12 For my message came by a direct revelation from Jesus Christ himself.
No one else taught me.
(NLT)

Paul was taught the gospel before the new testament was ever conceived. So Jesus Himself taught Paul. Paul was not giving Paul’s gospel but the gospel directly from Jesus Christ. We have the same gospel today recorded in the New Testament. Today we are taught by the Holy Spirit the gospel of Jesus Christ. God chose the preaching of the gospel to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We therefore are to preach this same gospel in season and out of season and everywhere we go. We are to look for the opportunity to share Christ wherever we are. Be ready at any moment to share the gospel so that when they receive Christ all the angels in heaven, along with us will give praise to God and rejoice with Him over the sinner receiving salvation.
