Galatians 4:8-12a 8 Before you Gentiles knew God, you were slaves to so-called gods that do not even exist. 9 And now that you have found God (or should I say, now that God has found you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual powers of this world? 10 You are trying to find favor with God by what you do or don't do on certain days or months or seasons or years. 11 I fear for you. I am afraid that all my hard work for you was worth nothing. 12 Dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to live as I do in freedom from these things, for I have become like you Gentiles were — free from the law. (NLT) Tradition should never be used to please God or to be placed above scripture. We have been set free from traditions. We are to live our lives free in Christ according to His will for us. We are to be more like Jesus every day. To try to return to your old life is like try to break into prison, why would you do that? Why would you want to be bound by the chains of fear, worry, chaos and hatred. When we are set free in Christ we can now live without fear, we can live in a love that is indescribable and we can live in peace with our Father God. Life in Christ lifts you up, the world brings you down. Life in Christ give you the abundant life, the world takes and takes and takes and never gives back. Therefore turn from the old life and turn to Jesus into the new life the one who loves you, cares for you, and believes in you as you do Him. He never stops loving you and He always has your best interests in mind. Live for Him because He lives for you.
