Galatians 2:21 21 I am not one of those who treats the grace of God as meaningless. For if we could be saved by keeping the law, then there was no need for Christ to die. (NLT) If it were possible to keep the entire law then we would be saved by keeping it. But the law was to show that we are sinners because it is impossible to keep every letter of the law. Why? Because we are sinners and we don’t like to follow the rules. The law causes us to realize that we can not please God through keeping rules. The law brings us to see that we are sinners because God is a Holy God requiring those to be Holy as He is Holy. God required the shedding of blood for the forgiveness of sin. But God provided the ultimate way by showing that the law would be fulfilled when the Christ comes and gives His life so that we can be reconciled to God. Jesus was the fulfillment of the law. He was the final piece to the law. The law showed that we were dead spiritually and that faith in Christ’s death, burial and resurrection would bring salvation to those who would believe on His name. And though His name we would be made alive unto God and made complete in Christ. Praise be unto God our Father for His wonderful grace.
