Words of Encouragement –Faithfulness
Lamentations 3:23-24
23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. 24 I say to myself, "The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!" (NLT)
Because of God’s great faithfulness and mercy God has given us an inheritance in Christ Jesus. Therefore we are to hope daily in Him. God is faithful and the good work He has begun in you He will complete it and that is a guarantee. We then can begin each day fresh with the Lord Jesus to accomplish His will by the guiding of the Holy Spirit. Begin each day in the Word of God so that you will know Him more and more of what He has planned for you. Start each day in praise to the one that is faithful.

Words of Encouragement –Faithfulness
John 1:16-17
16 We have all benefited from the rich blessings he brought to us — one gracious blessing after another. 17 For the law was given through Moses; God's unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. (NLT)
God has continually blessed each one of us greatly. Even the breath that we breathe and life itself is God’s blessing. When we trust Jesus God fills us with His unfailing love and faithfulness. Unfailing love, better known as unconditional love, this love is the kind of love we are to love our spouse with and we are to love everyone else with too. Loving as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us. Faithfulness, God was faithful in His plan to bring a savior to the world to redeem it from sin and He followed through with His word. We too are to follow God in faithfulness. We are to be faithful to God and His Word, we are to be faithful to our spouses and we are to be faithful to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Remember that you are richly blessed in Christ Jesus.

Words of Encouragement –Faithfulness
Psalm 40:10-11
10 I have not kept this good news hidden in my heart; I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power. I have told everyone in the great assembly of your unfailing love and faithfulness.
11 LORD, don't hold back your tender mercies from me. My only hope is in your unfailing love and faithfulness. (NLT)
Do you hold in your heart God’s love, faithfulness and saving power or do you share God’s love, faithfulness and saving power with others?
It is God’s will for each one of us to share His love, His faithfulness and His saving power with others. Others should see that you are different from the rest of the world. Jesus attracted people because He was different. He did not conform to this world but He spoke differently, He taught differently and He loved differently. The world could not understand Jesus because they are unwilling to confront their true condition before Him. God chose us to continue the sharing of the message of the gospel. Some will believe and some will not and some will believe later. It is our responsibility to share the message. As God has been faithful to you, you be faithful to Him for our hope is in His unfailing love and faithfulness.

Psalm 25:6-10
6 Remember, O LORD, your unfailing love and compassion, which you have shown from long ages past.
7 Forgive the rebellious sins of my youth; look instead through the eyes of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O LORD.
8 The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
9 He leads the humble in what is right, teaching them his way.
10 The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all those who keep his covenant and obey his decrees. (NLT)
The LORD leads (not us). The LORD is compassionate, forgiving, merciful and faithful. How does He lead? He leads with unfailing love and faithfulness. He does what is good for us and He shows the right path for us to follow. How do we know we are on the right path? We know when we are committed to seeking Him and keeping His commandments. If we humble ourselves before Him He will lead us in what is right and teach us His way. If we want God’s best in our lives we must humble ourselves, deny ourselves and pick up our cross and follow Jesus. He who began a good work in you is faithful to complete that work in you. He is Faithful.

Words of Encouragement –Goodness
2 Peter 1:3-4
3 As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness! 4 And by that same mighty power, he has given us all of his rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in his divine nature. (NLT)
As we take each step closer to Jesus and knowing Him better He reveals to us more of what He has given us. Jesus has given us everything we need for living a godly life. It is already within us and He has called us to receive riches, wonderful promises, glory and goodness from Him. Now we are to walk toward Him, to get closer to Him and to let Him reveal more of Himself to us. The answer to all of our problems, hurts and habits is Jesus. Jesus is the answer. Go to Jesus.

Words of Encouragement –Goodness

James 3:17-18
17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness. (NLT)
True wisdom comes from God. True wisdom does not come with arrogance, pride or self- righteousness. But true wisdom is first pure then peace loving, gentle, merciful with good deeds. It shows no partiality, is always sincere and does come from a college education. Wisdom comes from a close walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. The world believes that by a higher education comes true knowledge and wisdom. This is a lie. Education does help you learn skills but real wisdom comes from God. By walking with God each and every day you will reap a harvest of goodness. Goodness is an outworking in your life of the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit changing you as you draw nearer to them.

Words of Encouragement –Goodness
1 Peter 2:9
9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a kingdom of priests, God's holy nation, his very own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. (NLT)
We who have received Jesus as our savior are part of a kingdom of priests. Yes, we are all ministers, we have all been called to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ and we are called to show others the goodness of God. For we have been called out of the darkness into His wonderful light to shine brightly in this dark world. We are God’s holy nation, we are His very own possession and we are called to speak the life changing words of Jesus. Only He can change a life and it is through us and our devotion to Him that it will be accomplished. Jesus chose us to open our mouths and to speak His words of His death, burial and resurrection. Humble yourself before the mighty hand of God and do that which He has called you to do. Give Him all the praise and glory.

Words of Encouragement –Goodness
Romans 14:17-19
17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God. And other people will approve of you, too. 19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. (NLT)
How can you please God? Live your life filled with the Holy Spirit. It is true that we must let the Holy Spirit guide us through this life. We must let the Holy Spirit be in charge. Our lives need to reflect goodness, peace and joy for these things are the fruit of a life filled with the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit we will wonder aimlessly throughout this life without purpose. The Spirit will lead you into the will of God for your life. As we allow the Holy Spirit to control our lives we can live in harmony with each other and be able to encourage and build each other up in Christ.

Words of Encouragement –Goodness
James 1:17-18
17 Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, he never changes or casts shifting shadows. 18 In his goodness he chose to make us his own children by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his choice possession. (NLT)
Everything we receive that is good and perfect is from God. Even though He allows us to go through hard times yet at the end it was good for us. Hard times teach us to trust God more fully and to strengthen our faith. Everything God takes us through is for our own good.
By His goodness He chose us to be His children and that was no mistake. Think about this phrase “And we, out of all creation, became His choice possession.” Because of God’s goodness He chose us to be His special possession. You! You are precious to Him and that is something He will never change His word on.

Words of Encouragement –Kindness
Colossians 1:8
6 This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is changing lives everywhere, just as it changed yours that very first day you heard and understood the truth about God's great kindness to sinners. (NLT)
The Good News about what Jesus Christ (the Son of the living God) did on the cross is the only reality that can change people’s lives. Everything else is temporary or just a band aid to their problems but their problems never go away. Only Jesus can truly change a life forever. The world can say whatever it wants but the truth is the truth and there is more proof of changed lives through Jesus then by the world's system. Jesus is the only one who can get to the root of the problem and change it. Why is that? Because Jesus is the one who created us, He knows everything about us and He is the only one who can fix us. We cannot fix ourselves.
It is our responsibility as believers to continue to share Jesus with a lonely and dying world that cannot fix itself. Remember just as God’s Word changed your life from the first day you heard it, received it and understood it that the truth about God’s Great Kindness to sinners and to you. Go therefore and share the Good News.

Words of Encouragement –Kindness
Ephesians 1:6-8
6 So we praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved Son. 7 He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. (NLT)
Is it not great that we serve such a glorious God -- a God who cares so much about His creation? He is more concerned about our hearts condition and that is why Christ died for us. God’s character of kindness and love drives Him to purchase our freedom from the bondage of sin. His kindness through the shed blood of His Son Jesus brings us forgiveness and salvation. His kindness does not want any to perish but for all to come to Christ. And because of His rich kindness He also gives us the choice to receive His kindness or to reject it. Praise God for His wonderfully loving and rich kindness.

Words of Encouragement –Kindness
Romans 12:6-11
6 God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you. 7 If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
9 Don't just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically. (NLT)
God has given each one of us gifts and abilities. If you think that God has not given you some gift or ability you are wrong. God gives generously to all His children. Some are given more and some less. God has created each one of us for a purpose and no one is excluded. Do not be jealous of someone who may have more gifts or abilities than you but praise the Lord that He has given you this one thing to do very well. It is not ours to complain that we don’t have enough but to be thankful for God working in our life. Whatever God has given you to do, do it gladly, do it with kindness, do it generously and do it all to the Glory of God. Whether you have the ability to preach, serve others, teach, encourage others, have money to share generously, leadership, kindness or any other ability do it all to the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Romans 3:23-26
23 For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard. 24 Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins. 25 For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times. 26 And he is entirely fair and just in this present time when he declares sinners to be right in his sight because they believe in Jesus. (NLT)
We can glorify God for His gracious kindness toward us. Because of His kindness through Christ He has declared those who believe not guilty. God is fair and just in everything He does. Through Christ He has made us free. Praise the Lord Jesus for sacrificing His life and shedding His blood for us. It is not because of anything we did or that we are at all worthy but it is because of the gracious kindness of our God and Father. Remember that we have all sinned, that we have all fallen short of God’s standard and that we are made right before God because of His gracious kindness.

Proverbs 3:1-6
My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart, 2 for they will give you a long and satisfying life. 3 Never let loyalty and kindness get away from you! Wear them like a necklace; write them deep within your heart. 4 Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will gain a good reputation.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths. (NLT)
Loyalty and Kindness, write them deeply within your heart. God wants our hearts and He wants to change our hearts. God wants our hearts to reflect His character that glory and honor comes to Him.
Scripture is teaching us to turn from our old ways and turn to God’s ways. Since the scripture is our teacher we need to store His commandments in our hearts and let the Holy Spirit guide us and direct our paths. Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths so that you can live a long and satisfying in Christ.
Let kindness never get away from you but let it always be reaching out to others. As you learn about the kindness of the Lord toward you show that same kind of kindness toward others so that they can see Jesus living in you and believe in Him too.

Words of Encouragement –Patience
2 Peter 3:8-9
8 But you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9 The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent. (NLT)
Praise the Lord that He is patient. He is patient for your sake. He wants to give time for others to accept Jesus as their Savior too and He wants to use you to accomplish this take as well. And along the way teach us how to live by His patience.
To Recap:
We need to teach patience
We need to be patient
We need to look to the scripture to find models of patience
We need to model patience
We need to wait patiently on the Lord
Be patient in suffering for the Lord
Suffering patiently will build your faith
Be patient in your prayers
Patience produces endurance and endurance produces godliness
Remember God’s timing is perfect, be patient

1 Peter 2:18-21
18 You who are slaves must accept the authority of your masters. Do whatever they tell you— not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are harsh. 19 For God is pleased with you when, for the sake of your conscience, you patiently endure unfair treatment. 20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing right and are patient beneath the blows, God is pleased with you.
21 This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps. (NLT)
Employee could be substituted for slave here and employer for master. As an employee God expects us to obey them whether they are kind or unreasonable. If you endure or you are patient through this suffering God is pleased with you. We must remember that ultimately we are working for God and it is He whom we will answer to. But if we patiently suffer for what we have done wrong it is meaningless. This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps. Be patient when you are suffering for the Lord for He will never leave you and suffering patiently will build your faith.

Words of Encouragement –Patience
2 Peter 1:6
6 Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness. (NLT)
In the beginning of our walk with Christ we begin to get to know Jesus and what it means to follow Him. Jesus said in Matthew 16:24-26 "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross, and follow me. 25 If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life.(NLT) So then to begin self-control you must put aside selfish ambition. As you allow the Holy Spirit to begin to control your life this leads to patience and patience leads to endurance and endurance leads to godliness. As we walk with Christ He is taking us through a process and He is cleansing us from the old life and remaking us into a new person in Him. Patience also leads us into prayer. Helping us to see that God’s timing is perfect.

Hebrews 10:32-39
32 Don't ever forget those early days when you first learned about Christ. Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. 33 Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. 34 You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail. When all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew you had better things waiting for you in eternity.
35 Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.
37 "For in just a little while,
the Coming One will come and not delay.
38 And a righteous person will live by faith.
But I will have no pleasure in anyone who turns away."
39 But we are not like those who turn their backs on God and seal their fate. We have faith that assures our salvation.(NLT)
Sometimes you just can’t say it better than Scripture. Help others who suffer as you have, be patient with those in their early walk with Christ and remember God’s promise to you. We have faith that assures our salvation.

Words of Encouragement –Patience
Romans 2:4
4 Don't you realize how kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Or don't you care? Can't you see how kind he has been in giving you time to turn from your sin? (NLT)
Sometimes it is very easy to forget how kind and tolerant and patient God is toward us. It is not God who has the problem but it is us. We need to be very thankful that God is patient with us. Giving us time to see the sin in our life, confess our sin to Him and repent of our sin.
We need to be patient with others as God is patient with us. Within our lives we need to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ’s life and how He lived it and model our own lives in the same way. We need to seek Christ and His will for us and live a life that the life of Christ is flowing out of us.

Words of Encouragement – Patience
James 5:10-11
10 For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. Job is an example of a man who endured patiently. From his experience we see how the Lord's plan finally ended in good, for he is full of tenderness and mercy. (NLT)

To learn patience and how to endure suffering we must turn to the scriptures and those who have modeled patience. Of course, one of the best examples is Job. Job loved God and obeyed God to the very end. Job never doubted God or turned his back on God but continued in faith believe God’s will be done regardless of the final outcomeFrom his experience we see how the Lord's plan finally ended in good, for he is full of tenderness and mercy. Regardless of our circumstance, God is on our side and He is full of tenderness, mercy, grace and love. In Jeremiah 29:11 it says, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (NLT) Wait patiently on the Lord and He will bring it to pass.

Words of Encouragement –Patience
Titus 2:1-2
1 But as for you, promote the kind of living that reflects right teaching. 2 Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have strong faith and be filled with love and patience. (NLT)
We must promote right teaching. We need to teach self-control, respect, wisdom, faith, love and patience. When we teach others we need to have strong faith in God that He will use us to teach others wisely. In teaching others the Word of God we must have patience, for the ones who taught us had patience with us for the things we did not understand. They had patience with us when we still lived in the world and not fully for Christ. So then have patience with those you share with for they are not at the same place in their walk with Christ as you are. Be filled with love and patience.

Words of Encouragement –Peace
2 Corinthians 13:11
11 Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Rejoice. Change your ways. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you. (NLT)
Rejoice in the Lord. Change your ways through your obedience to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and live according to God’s will for you. Be encouraging to each other as God encourages you through His Word which brings grace and blessings. Live in peace and harmony with each other as well with those who live in the this world. Remember that in Christ your home is no longer here on this earth but in heaven above and while you are here live in peace with your fellow man as best as you can. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.

Words of Encouragement –Peace
1 Peter 1:2-3
2 God the Father chose you long ago, and the Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed Jesus Christ and are cleansed by his blood. May you have more and more of God's special favor and wonderful peace. (NLT)
Isn’t it wonderful to know that God chose you long before you were born to be His child and to be with Him forever. And that through the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that we have been cleansed by His blood and made holy by the Holy Spirit. These things should make us shout for joy. God through Jesus Christ has given us wonderful peace and through Christ we have peace with God. Now that we have peace with God we have His special favor. We are no longer condemned but now we have God’s special favor. God is not against us but His special favor is upon us to do His will and to bring glory to His name. Therefore go in God’s peace and accomplish His will for His favor is upon you.

Words of Encouragement –Peace
Romans 8:5-6
5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace. (NLT)
The sinful nature wants to dominate your life. It wants you to have nothing to do with God. It only wants to destroy your witness and your life in Christ. But praise to Jesus that He did not leave us alone in this but sent His Holy Spirit to live within us and to help us in this journey. When we allow the Holy Spirit to have control of our mind we have peace and life. Sin wants to distract us from God’s Will and the Holy Spirit wants to bring us closer to Christ. There is a battle going on for your mind and the one that wins out is the one you feed the most. Do you feed your mind with worldly things or do you feed your mind with the Word of God? The world brings death but Christ and the Holy Spirit brings life and peace. Which one is the better choice? Which one do you choose?

Romans 12:17-18
17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible. (NLT)
It is our responsibility to live at peace with everyone around us. God does not say that it will be perfect because He knows we are sinners but we are to do our best to be at peace with our neighbors. As we are now at peace with God we need to impart peace to others. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone but give grace, mercy and peace as much as possible. Let Christ shine through you.

Words of Encouragement –Peace
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (NLT)
If you do this - pray about everything - you will experience God’s peace. We cannot truly and fully understand God’s peace but God has given us His peace through Jesus Christ. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Instead of worrying – pray. You want peace in your life – pray. God is on your side and He has already given you His peace, now just pray and pray about everything for God wants to hear from you and He wants to hear everything you have to say – pray.

John 14:27
27 "I am leaving you with a gift — peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid. (NLT)
Peace is a gift from the Lord Jesus Christ. No matter what we go through here of earth we will always have Jesus’ peace and we will have peace with God. We do not need to worry for we have peace of mind that Jesus is always looking out for us and that is why He sent His Holy Spirit to live within us. Jesus did not give us peace like the world gives peace which could be here today and gone tomorrow. The peace Jesus gives is everlasting and will never go away. So then with having the peace of God living in us we never need to be troubled of afraid.

22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law. (NLT)

Words of Encouragement – Joy
Romans 14:17-19
17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God. And other people will approve of you, too. 19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. (NLT)
To live life to the fullest we must live it in the Holy Spirit. For us to have goodness and peace and joy we must give ourselves to the Holy Spirit and let Him guide, direct and teach us the way of Christ. Aim for harmony in the church, with each other and strive to build each other up in Christ. For the Kingdom of God is not about eating or drinking but doing the will of God to the praise and glory of Christ. Joy will come through obedience to Christ in a Spirit lead life. Give yourself wholly and completely to the will of God and begin your real journey of life and you will have peace and joy.

Words of Encouragement – Joy
Psalm 43:3-4
3 Send out your light and your truth;
let them guide me.
Let them lead me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you live.
4 There I will go to the altar of God,
to God — the source of all my joy.
I will praise you with my harp,
O God, my God!
(NLT)
The source of all our joy is God.
He fills us with light, truth, love, blessings and joy.
The fruit of the Spirit is what we are to pursue and it will guide us.
We are to be seeking the Kingdom of God, where true joy is found, and leading others there too.
Real joy and happiness comes only from living in Christ and abiding in Christ.
Joy is the result of our obedience to the commandments of Christ.
The source of all our joy is Christ
