Mark 9:1
1 Jesus went on to say, "I assure you that some of you standing here right now will not die before you see the Kingdom of God arrive in great power!"    (NLT)

The key word here is "arrive." When Jesus died and ascended to heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to come and begin the coming process or the first step in the coming of the kingdom of God. We are now in the process of the kingdom of God coming. We are to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ until the full arrival of the kingdom of God. There are many things that must happen before Christ's full return. Our part in this process is to preach the word in season and out of season in other words all the time at every opportunity. Therefore Jesus was correct that those standing there would not see death but would see the Holy Spirit come at the beginning of the kingdom of God not that some would live until Christ returned. And as they were all gathered in that room they saw the Holy Spirit come in with great power as He dispersed His gifts to them and He continues to this day with great power giving gifts, guiding and teaching how to follow Jesus Christ.
