Mark 10:29-31
29 And Jesus replied, "I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, 30 will receive now in return, a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property — with persecutions. And in the world to come they will have eternal life. 31 But many who seem to be important now will be the least important then, and those who are considered least here will be the greatest then." (NLT)
Have you come to the point where you have given up everything for Christ? No, we have not. But we must give up all we are for Christ, to give to Him as He has given to us and to deny ourselves for Christ. For when we give up for Christ He gives more back. If your heart is not right and you are only giving up to gain something then your motives are sinful. But when you give up and obey the truth not ever expecting anything in return then God blesses you in His time more than what you have given even a hundred times over. God wants us to use what He gives us to bring honor and glory to Him. Blessings do not remove persecutions for we will always be persecuted in Christ because we are Christ followers and the world hates us because of that. The blessings here on earth are only temporary but the rewards to come in eternity will be forever. Our blessings here include not only monetary things but blessings of relationships and a larger family of all have been adopted into the family of God like you have. This life here on this earth is to be lived for Christ. Christ is the answer to all our problems and the standard by which we need to live for and work toward. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.” Give your best to Jesus, give up self for Jesus’ sake, live to share the Good News of the Gospel and obey God’s will for your life. This life and all that we do is to be to the Glory of God.
