2 Timothy 3:1-5
You should also know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control; they will be cruel and have no interest in what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. You must stay away from people like that. (NLT)
What do you love? Is there something that you love more than God? Scripture tells us to “examine ourselves”before taking communion but examining ourselves is something we need to do daily. For in the last days people will be lovers of themselves and think only of themselves because they have not examined themselves to make sure that God is the only true love in their lives. In verse 5 they will even act religious but reject the power that could make them more like Christ because they have made self No. 1. Read this verse again and examine yourself and if anything strikes you, repent, and ask God to forgive you and let His love fill you. Our lives need to be lives that are pleasing to our Father and bring honor and glory to the Son.
Our Mission is to Lead People into a Growing Relationship with Jesus Christ
