Mark 15:1-5
Very early in the morning the leading priests, other leaders, and teachers of religious law — the entire high council — met to discuss their next step. They bound Jesus and took him to Pilate, the Roman governor.
2 Pilate asked Jesus, "Are you the King of the Jews?"
Jesus replied, "Yes, it is as you say." 3 Then the leading priests accused him of many crimes, 4 and Pilate asked him, "Aren't you going to say something? What about all these charges against you?" 5 But Jesus said nothing, much to Pilate's surprise. (NLT)
There is a time for everything. There is a time to speak and a time to remain quiet. When you are accused of things you have not done, do not become defensive. Defensiveness sometimes can be misinterpreted and can be interpreted as being guilty. Remain calm and trust the Holy Spirit to give you the right words to speak. Sometimes nothing you say will change another person’s opinion, so then be slow to speak and quick to hear. Even Pilate knew that Jesus was innocent. Therefore trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, forgive others that have trespassed against you and let the Lord fight the battle for you.
