The Priceless Gain of Knowing Christ

Philippians 3:4-6

4 Yet I could have confidence in myself if anyone could.
If others have reason for confidence in their own efforts, I have even more!
5 For I was circumcised when I was eight days old,
having been born into a pure-blooded Jewish family that is a branch of the tribe of Benjamin.
So I am a real Jew if there ever was one! What's more, I was a member of the Pharisees,
who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law.
6 And zealous? Yes, in fact, I harshly persecuted the church.
And I obeyed the Jewish law so carefully that I was never accused of any fault.
(NLT)

If we are to boast we are only to boast of Christ and what He has done for us and through us. Here Paul shows that he could boast beyond any Jew according the Jewish law. But that is not what he wants to boast about. He only wants to think of Christ. He wants to show the importance of putting Christ first in your life. That nothing else is more important than Christ. Earlier in his life he did everything for the wrong reasons no matter how right it seemed to be at the time. Christ is to be our all in all. Christ must come first otherwise it is meaningless and selfish. Surrender to Christ today and let Him have His way in you for He will fill your life with unspeakable joy.
